The latest edition of WWE SmackDown, also known as Friday Night SmackDown, is scheduled to air on August 11, 2023, from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Canada. Following the most recent pay-per-view event, WWE SummerSlam 2023, which took place on August 5, 2023, will be the first edition of WWE SmackDown. WWE United States Championship Match: Austin Theory vs Santos Escobar
Austin Theory has previously been defeated by Santos Escobar in a non-title match. Escobar will now, however, compete against Austin Theory for the United States Championship on the following Friday Night SmackDown edition.
This week on WWE SmackDown, Austin Theory will face Santos Escobar to defend the US Championship. However, there’s a chance Austin Theory will triumph over Santos Escobar if the two clash. Theory will continue to hold the Championship title.
AJ Styles vs Karrion Kross
Karrion Kross and AJ Styles have been engaged in a protracted dispute. In their previous singles encounters, AJ Styles consistently prevailed against Karrion Kross. On the upcoming WWE SmackDown edition, the pair will square off against one another in a singles match once more.
Karrion Kross has never been able to defeat AJ Styles when the two have faced off in Singles matches. Karrion Kross might finally succeed in defeating AJ Styles this week, though, if that doesn’t alter.
IYO Sky hails the Title
IYO SKY is anticipated to celebrate her championship this Friday. Following a successful Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam 2023. Where she is rumored to be joined by Bayley and Dakota Kai for the celebration. Shotzi Blackheart and Asuka’s interruption of the festivities could cause havoc because Asuka will be challenging IYO SKY to a rematch at Payback and Shotzi will be seeking revenge against Bayley.
Jimmy Uso Returns
Roman Reigns earlier defeated Jey Uso at WWE SummerSlam 2023 to successfully defend both the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and the title of Tribal Chief. After Jimmy Uso betrayed Jey Uso and cost him the championship. As a result, Jimmy Uso will return to the Island of Relevancy on Friday Night SmackDown this week to recognize Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.
