In the latest episode of Tuesday Night NXT, Wes Lee defended his NXT North American Championship against the likes of Dominik Mysterio in one on one singles match. To everyone’s surprise, Dominik went on to win the match and become the new NXT North American Champion. But the netizens are not happy with the move as Dominik winning the Gold made no sense at all. When Dominik Mysterio challenged Wes Lee for the North American Title on the last week’s episode of NXT, everyone including the fans was certain that Dirty Dom is going to lose the match. Dominik Mysterio is undoubtedly over with the fans but no one was ready to see him in the title picture.
However, to everyone’s surprise, Dominik went on to defeat the longest reigning North American Champion Wes Lee with the help of the Judgement Day members Finn Balor, Damien Priest, and Rhea Ripley. While everyone was in shock, a lot of people took on the Twitter to highlight the hypocrisy of WWE.
In the long history of the North American Title, there have been some iconic wrestlers to hold the title. Solo Sikoa was also one of the wrestlers to hold the prestigious title. Sikoa debuted in WWE NXT in the year 2021 and wrestled there for some time. Until he made his debut in the main roster at the Clash Of Champions PLE as the enforcer of Roman.
Sikoa then came back to NXT as a replacement for Wes Lee after Lee was injured by Hayes and Williams. And then Sikoa went on to challenge Carmelo for the title. Which he eventually won. But Shawn Michales in the following week ordered Sikoa to vacate the title as he was not originally scheduled to be in the match in which he won the title. But on the other hand, Dominik won the title when he has been on the main roster. WWE fans are confused and disappointed by the fact that it was Dominik who defeated Wes Lee for the title.

Fans have taken to Twitter to show their frustration and anger at WWE. According to fans, Wee was having a good North American Title reign. Fans also noted that Lee was the longest reigning NXT North American Champion with the highest title defenses. Fans also believe that Wes Lee is the greatest NXT North American Champion of all time. And to end his title reign abruptly that to Dominik is a very disappointing thing for the fans.
Fans also said that Dominik’s wrestling career has just started and that he does not need titles to validate his character at this time. Fans also said that Dominik has a good character that has a lot of heat among fans and that Dominik should focus on improving that aspect rather than winning the title.
