LA Knight is currently the most over wrestler on the WWE roster. Fans adore him and his gimmick. But there are some people who do not. He is also being criticized for being the rip-off of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. But now Konnan comes in support of Knight stating that he finds nothing wrong with LA Knight being inspired By The Rock.
Professional Wrestling is a very creative industry. It not only involves the wrestlers fighting in a five-star match but also revolves around their microphone abilities and their character. Wrestlers are supposed to play a character and get it over with the wrestling fans. There are wrestlers who have managed to pull off some iconic characters such as Rock, Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, etc and became known to fans because of the aura and character that they portrayed.
LA Knight is a character who naturally got over with the fans. The last time it happened WWE had to change their Wrestlemania main event plans. Thus it is a big deal. But there are some people criticizing Knight for his lack of originality in his character. Hall of Famer Kevin Nash is his podcast slammed Knight for being the rip-off of The Rock.
While speaking in K100, Konnan addressed the Nash criticisms stating that there is nothing wrong with LA Knight being inspired by The Rock. He added that at first he also thought Knight is imitating or copying The Rock. But when he kept looking at his character’s growth he found that The Rock never said ‘Yeah’ or ‘Dummy’. He also added that Rock hasn’t been wrestling on a regular basis in 25 years. He said that Knight is inspired by The Rock and that he finds nothing wrong in it.
Plans for LA Knight at SummerSlam
The biggest party of the Summer is closing in as SummerSlam is scheduled to arrive on August 5 in Detroit. There are many matches announced and rumored for the SummerSlam. But there is no sign of LA Knight in any of the feuds. But there are rumors circulating around that LA Knight is going to be in the SummerSlam this year.
As there are big plans for LA Knight scheduled at SummerSlam this year. And rumors also state that Knight would challenge The United States Champion Austin Theory for the title match at SummerSlam. If the rumors are true then Knight may also go on to win the US title and put an end to a catastrophic US title reign of Theory.
