SummerSlam is one of the biggest Premium Live Events of WWE after Wrestlemania. There are many iconic matches and bouts that are scheduled for the show. This year’s SummerSlam is just a week away and WWE has not kept any stone unturned to deliver the biggest party of Summer. But the main upset came in this week’s episode of RAW where WWE announced that Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus are not going to wrestle at this year’s SummerSlam.
Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus are two of the most decorated superstars to ever put foot on the squared circle. The rivalry between the two started from the RAW after Wrestlemania where Trish turned on Becky costing her the Women’s Tag titles. The rivalry since has its turn and surprises. One of the biggest surprises is Zoey Stark helping Trish win the match against Becky Lynch at Clash Of Champions.
The feud became more interesting as both the legends gave their best throughout. Thus it was certain in fans’ minds that Lynch and Stratus are going to face each other at SummerSlam to conclude their feud. But surprisingly that’s not the case. As in this week’s episode, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce made Trish face Becky Lynch on RAW itself. The match however ended with a DQ by Zoey Stark.
Trish and Zoey then went on to attack Lynch and take her out in the process. Following this in the Backstage segment, Adam Pearce looked disappointed and then made it official that Trish Stratus would face Becky Lynch in two weeks in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with a stipulation that Zoey would be barred from the ring. This confirms that Lynch and Trish are not going to wrestle at the biggest party of the Summer.
Fans’ Reaction to This Controversial Decision
Fans were not at all happy with WWE’s decision to remove this match from the SummerSlam match card. WWE Fans took on to Twitter to show their displeasure about the controversial decision. Some said that part-timers like Logan Paul got a match at SummerSlam but the Hall of Famer Trish Stratus did not.
