Few months ago, WWE announced that they have struck a deal with the streaming platform Twitch, to allow their superstars to continue to stream on the platform. Now, WWE has entered into a new deal with Twitch, which is apparently a multi-year partnership.
Few years ago, the company had issued a new rule, which prohibited their superstars from streaming on third party platforms like Twitch. This created a big problem for WWE superstars who had a big following on the streaming platform. Paige and Zelina Vega were notably some of the few superstars who had a large following on the platform. Vega was also released from the company due to streaming on Twitch, but was later rehired after backlash from fans.
WWE announced this morning that they have entered into a multi-year agreement with Twitch. According to the partnership agreement, WWE would re-introduce their official channel on the platform. It would feature “live and exclusive content” with WWE stars. The channel will also stream a companion podcast to WWE RAW, which would debut with tonight’s show.
The stream would provide a behind-the-scenes look at RAW on a weekly basis and also feature a few appearances from WWE superstars. The company has also announced that their Twitch channel would feature all the live-event press conferences. These press conferences would also be streamed on WWE’s YouTube channel.
Which WWE wrestlers are still active on Twitch?
Wrestlers not only from WWE, but from various other promotions are also pretty active on Twitch. AJ Styles, Zelina Vega, Dakota Kai, Drew Gulak were some of the few superstars who have been an active part of Twitch.
Even before WWE uplifted their restrictions, superstars like Gulak, Vega, Kai and Xavier Woods returned to the platform. It remains to be seen whether AJ Styles makes his eventual return to the platform.
