Gunther is unarguably one of the toughest guys in the professional wrestling industry. He has currently beaten the record for the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Championship in the history of the WWE. His last opponent was Chad Gable who lost at the main event of WWE RAW. WWE fans were dejected and were Gable’s family sitting in the front corner. Now In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, Ring General Gunther has reacted to the emotional reaction to his win over Chad Gable.
Gunther as we all know is currently dominating the mid-card roster. No one has gone even close to beating the Ring General after his main roster debut. He would win the Intercontinental Championship within a month or two after his debut and defend it multiple times. The Ring General would then have a magnificent run as the Intercontinental Champion, destroying every opponent that came his way.
Gunther would defend his championship against the likes of Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Ricochet, and, Matt Riddle just to name a few. The matches of the ring general throughout his reign as a Champion were lauded and appreciated by the fans. Dave Meltzer would also award his match with Sheamus a five-star, the first one of the main roster.
But the main competition that Ring General got was from his latest opponent Chad Gable. Chad Gable would challenge the Intercontinental Champion for a match at the main event of RAW. The match would have everything, a wrestling fan would want. The match was brutal and a testimony to the fact that the general was not letting his championship go away that easily. It was very astonishing to and fro, with every move changing the favors of the match.

Gunther would then win the match by hitting his three finishers one after another and finally retaining his WWE Intercontinental Championship. Though the finish was expected, it was nonetheless devastating for the fans to watch. Moreover more devastating and emotional for the family members of Chad Gable sitting in the front row to watch him lose the match.

Chad Gable’s daughter would burst into tears watching her father lose the match. This moment was undoubtedly one of the most emotional ones in the show. Now, in an interview with Sportskeeda, Ring General Gunther has reacted to Chad Gable’s daughter crying after the match. He said, “I feel great after beating Chad Gable in the main event of RAW. I won right? So I’m good. I enjoy a little bit of heartbreak at the end. I was happy to see that (Gable’s daughter crying front-row after his loss to Gunther).”
Gunther is set to face Chad Gable in a rematch for Intercontinental Championship at Fastlane next month. It would be fun to watch if Gable could finally dethrone the Ring General once and for all.
