At the Hungarian Open, Zhang Shuai was left in shock as she was facing discrimination from the side of the authorities. Shuai also got frustrated with the opponent player and the management, which caused Zhang Shuai’s retirement from the Hungarian Open. However, WTA has now taken this matter into their hands and is investigating the Zhang Shuai Hungarian GP controversy.
Zhang Shuai is one of the great players in the WTA and she was seeded No.2 coming in the Hungarian Open Grand Prix. Shuai has her career-high doubles ranking of world No.2 attained in July 2022. She is currently enjoying the ranking of World No.45. Also, she is a two-time major champion in Women’s doubles.

The tournament’s Facebook page shared some words on the case and in one post the page shared the following words: “The Chinese are manipulating the world with manipulative video.”
Seeing the backlash from the side of fans and other celebrity players, the page made a step backward. This incident made the organizers worried and afterward, they deleted and hid their comments on the posts. Meanwhile, fans were smart and they had taken screenshots of the responses by the account. Seeing Zhang Shuai’s retirement from the match, everyone is sad and wants justice for Shuai. Also, Ons Jabeur and Magda Linett tweeted seeing this non-professional answer by the authorities and said, “This is the worst response by a tournament I have ever seen.”

WTA sharing their response to the situation as they will have a full review of the situation. However, as an aftermath of this incident, the No.2 seed has now retired from the Hungarian Open.
Toht, the 20-year-old Hungarian tennis player, is ranked world No.584. She has to fight Kateryna Baindl, a Ukrainian tennis professional having her career-high singles ranking of world No. 62. Also, she is currently ranked at world No.100. This could be an easy match for the Ukrainian player hoping that it be a fair one for both players.
