A few weeks ago, WWE announced the King and the Queen of the Ring tournament that was at first set to be held at the capital city of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh but due to some reasons, they need to relocate the venue at the last moment. We did an article last week on this in which we explained the whole situation in detail.
Now the new place has been decided and it’s Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The show will take place on May 27th, after WrestleMania and just before The Backlash at Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
So, everything was set, relocation has been done, and the date was set but what happened to the wrestlers? Well, earlier today WWE releases a promotional video for The King and The Queen of the Ring tournament 2023 and in that video, they used every superstar on the main roster. From Roman Reigns to Bianca Belair, from Sami Zayn to Rhea Ripley, everyone’s name was in that video except these 2 superstars who were the previous tournament winners, Xavier Wood, The King of the Ring champion, and Zelina Vega, The Queen of the Ring Winner.
It is a bit strange that WWE did that to their winners as they used everyone except them and no wonder this created a mess in the wrestling world. To this situation, King of the Ring Xavier Woods replied via Twitter. He fixed that promotional video for them.
Well, the sarcasm was good and this has to be done. Anyways, The Queen of the Ring, Zelina Vega also didn’t waste any time and expressed her feeling after not being a part of the video even though she is the winner of the previous tournament.
She wrote, “Love that the last and FIRST Queen Of The Ring wasn’t shown in that clip but ok”
The company didn’t release a statement on the situation yet nor tweeted any reason behind it and many of us are assuming that it must be a mistake and if it is then it’s a huge mistake and should be corrected immediately.
