WWE is famous for its brilliantly written storylines as well as its highly-creative gimmicks. Few storylines make the WWE superstars seem like bloodthirsty monsters that can kill each other anytime. On the same page, some superstars get a gimmick that changes their whole world. But it’s not as simple as it looks. Some of the storylines are inspired by real-life feuds while some of them result in a real rivalry. Let’s take a look at the 7 real-life feuds in WWE.
Top 7 Real-life Feuds in the history of WWE
7. Taz Vs. Triple H
According to Taz, he came, he impressed, and he was buried and relegated for being the best. For a time being, he was also connected to the business as a commentator. But as the former superstar says, Hunter was behind his departure from the most significant wrestling business. Triple H has always been really close to the McMahon family because of obvious reasons. And a small brawl with him landed Tez out of the company.
6. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels
Undoubtedly, the rivalry gave us some of the most iconic matches in WWE. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels used to work together and an atrocious amount of tension grew up between the two backstage. Especially after Vince McMahon chose Shawn Michaels over Bret Hart in the infamous Montreal Screwjob.
5. John Cena and Kenn Doane
Kenn Doane’s world shattered when he found out that his fiance, Mickie James was having an affair with John Cena. Kenn Doane and Mickie James got engaged in 2007 and John Cena was WWE’s face at the time. It’s said that Cena even confronted everything with him but nothing remained the same as it was before. After 2009, Kenn Doane found himself out of WWE’s future plans.
4. Matt Hardy and Paul London
This feud is among the most serious ones. The hate between Matt Hardy and Paul London rose when Ashley Massaro started dating Paul. Ashley immediately started seeing Paul London after her breakup with the second half of Hardy Boyz. Since then, the two have shared a very heated rivalry. On occasions, they have even vented a lot about each other in interviews and on social media.
3. The Batista-Melina-John Morrison Triangle
The feud was fueled when Batista was allegedly in an affair with Melina when she was dating John Morrison already. Although, the fairness of this will be always questioned. Melina also once spoke about the whole hassle. She said that all Batista did for her was stand up against the people that picked on her backstage.
2. Alberto Del Rio and Mistico
Alberto Del Rio and the real ‘Sin Cara’ have been really vocal about their issues and hatred. It’s also said that Mistico even pulled a gun on Alberto Del Rio in Mexico. Alberto Del Rio and Mistico started working together for the AAA and it felt like the differences between the two are level. But they again started thrashing each other on social media after some time.
1. Vince McMahon and Jeff Jarrett
In 1999, Jeff Jarrett’s contract was about to expire and he was the Intercontinental Champion. Vince McMahon didn’t want him to move back to WCW with the title. Jeff Jerrett had to face Chyna at No Mercy on the last day of his contract and lose against her. For that, Double J took a whooping $300,000 from Vince McMahon. After a few days, Vince McMahon bought WCW and he also cleared that he’ll never do business with Double J again. But Double J found his way back in WWE in 2018.
