The biggest event of WWE is finally here and it wrapped up night one with some amazing fights and satisfying results. Here we are with the result and recap from the night of action.
John Cena vs Austin Theory for United States Championship
So the night opens with a great match between WWE’s most lovable face John Cena and a young talent Austin Theory. The match was good, both superstars tried their absolute best, at first Austin was in control of the match.
A-Town brilliantly defended himself from the 16-time world Champion and even was the controlling one for several minutes but the Old GOAT made a comeback and locked in STF. The theory even tapped out but since the referee was knocked out so it meant nothing. Then the 25-year-old played a cheap shot, hitting a low blow to John Cena and pinned him out to retain his US Championship.
Logan Paul vs Seth Rollins
Another great performance of the night as Seth Rollins and Logan Paul got into a fight. Though there was no big title or anything on the line both superstars fought for their pride.
Seth who has more experience and skill sets was in control throughout the match but Logan also didn’t disappoint us. He however took help from KSI during the match as Seth was about to Stomp him and KSI pulled out his friend for an escape. Later Seth took care of both of them to win the match.
Damage CTRL VS Lita, Becky Lynch, and Trish Stratus
This was one of those matches from the night which I was not expecting much of. Lita and Stratus from the challengers’ side were not doing what is meant to be done for an event like this. A WrestleMania-like performance was missing from this match.
Still, the match was okay, Becky Lynch on the other hand did a fantastic job. The man was carrying the whole match by herself. He performed the winning shot by delivering Manhandle Slam on Bayley from the middle rope.
Dominik Mysterio vs Rey Mysterio
A personal match as it was just the second time when a father and son came into the ring against each other for a match at WrestleMania. This time Dom Mysterio is against his father Rey Mysterio.
As soon as the bell rang, both superstars aggressively started hitting each other. The match started with a pace and continued like this throughout the whole game. There was also some interference as Judgment Day came to the ringside. This helped Dom to take over as his father got a little distraction but soon Legado del Fantasma came to deal with The Judgement Day.
Finally, Rey was able to hit his legendary 619 on his son to grab a win.
Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley for SmackDown Women’s Title
This was an equal match in terms of performance, though there could only be one winner and that was The Nightmare. Both the ladies did an absolutely fantastic job, of what it needs to become a WrestleMania-level performance.
Both of them are two of the Strongest female wrestlers in WWE so the game was heavy and powerful. There was so much power and heat in the game that you could actually feel it. Both kicked out each other’s finishing moves but still in the end, Ripley’s Riptide from the middle rope put an end to Flair’s reign of being the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens against The Usos for their WWE Tag Team Title
For the main event of the night, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens came into the ring against The Usos for their Undisputed title. At first, The Usos were in charge of the ring as they put Zayn into the corner and not letting him go for a tag. Finally, he somehow escaped and put a tag on KO, who immediately change the situation of the game.
Later on, The Usos were about to perform their finishing move on Zayn but were interrupted by Kevin Owens who pulled Jimmy out. The charge of the game changed several time but in the end, Zayn’s 3 continuous Helluva kick to Jey was enough to make them the new WWE Tag Team Champions. The Underdog from the underground with KO finally took revenge on the Usos.
