On July 15, WWE superstar John Cena and his wife Shay Shariatzadeh tied the knot in Vancouver. The pair married with friends and family 21 months later, in October 2020, in a private ceremony in Tampa, Florida.
John and Shay married at the opulent Rosewood Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver. Later, they were seen holding hands as they entered the members-only Vancouver Club, probably for their wedding celebration.
Who is Shay Shariatzadeh?
Shay Shariatzadeh, John Cena’s wife, is a Canadian-born engineer. She was born in Iran in 1989. Cena’s romantic future has been heavily contested since his highly publicised break-up with fellow professional wrestler Nikki Bella, with various unconfirmed stories swirling around the internet.
Shay is a bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2013.
According to PureWow, Shay Shariatzadeh works as a Project Manager at Sonatype. Shariatzadeh is not a public figure, or was not until her relationship with Cena thrust her into the spotlight. She has always been interested in math and physics.
The final push came when she viewed her brother’s engineering project. Early in her career, she met a mentor and learnt the ins and outs of product management. It appeared to her to be a combination of technical, business, and interpersonal abilities.
In December 2019, she worked as a product manager at Sonatype in Canada. She formerly worked at Motorola Solutions. She worked as a Sales Associate at Guess and La Vie En Rose in addition to her engineering employment.

In the midst of a global pandemic, Cena and his new wife did not have a high-flying, opulent wedding. The ceremony was held in secret at an attorney’s office in Tampa, Florida. In Vancouver, Canada, the pair married for the second time.
John Cena’s past relationships
His relationship with fellow WWE wrestler Nikki Bella ended in 2018. The two had been in a high-profile romance since 2012. John proposed to Nikki in April 2017, but they never married and separated in 2018.
Prior to Nikki, John had a couple of other relationships with wrestlers, including Mickie James who he dated in 2007 and Lisa Marie Varon (who he dated for about a month). Lisa was on a break from her spouse Lee Varon, whom she had been married to from 1994 to 2015.
