One of the most anticipated tournaments of the WWE is about to happen and yes I am not talking about WrestleMania which is indeed one of the biggest events in WWE but there is another tournament that gave us as much thrill and excitement as the other event and that is King and Queen of the Ring.
For the past 10 years, an agreement between WWE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia brought us this event which gives us matches that we never thought would ever happen but thanks to this partnership we’re able to witness such events. The House of Saudi will be in control of this event till 2027, as per the agreement.
The King and the Queen of the Ring 2023 were initially supposed to be held at the capital city of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh but due to some issues, the spot has been changed to the second largest city of the Country Jeddah which is also the resort city of Saudi Arabia. According to PWinsider Report, the program that was dated to go live on 27th May 2023 just after the pay-per-view of Backlash’s location got changed from the capital Riyadh to the main resort city Jeddha, however, the exact venue is yet to be confirmed.
So, the exact spot is still unknown but many of us are assuming it to happen in the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddha as the previous two special events of WWE were held there: the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 and Super ShowDown in 2019.
Wherever it happens, we are equally as excited as one should be because it shows us some of the best matches in WWE and yes the winner as well. Previous champion Xavier Woods became the king of the Ring after defeating Finn Balor in the finals in 2021 and in that same year, Zelina Vega became the queen of the ring after defeating Doudrop, now known as Piper Niven.
