WrestleMania is known as the grandest stage of all and similarly, it holds a crucial value for all the WWE superstars. It’s evident that every superstar on the roster wants to be a part of the premium pay-per-view. But, the spots on the biggest show are limited and only a few are lucky enough to get a chance.
As we saw last year, superstars such as Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens somehow manage to find a way to the big event. But few wrestlers are not involved in top storylines or suffering from an injury. So, let’s take a look at the top WWE Superstars who can miss WrestleMania.
Top 10 WWE Superstars who can Miss WrestleMania 39
10. Omos
WWE has always supported a reliable giant in their roster. And they thought that finally the Nigerian Giant, Omos will be able to fill up on the potential. But things didn’t go in the way they thought they would have. After lacking the required connection with the WWE Universe, Omos’ push was instantly stripped off. At last year’s WrestleMania, we saw him fighting against Bobby Lashley. But this year, it seems like he’ll fail to find an opponent.
9. Karrion Kross
Karrion Kross returned to the promotion with a huge boom but unfortunately, he failed to keep the relevance with the audience. Currently a mid-carder, Kross started things off with a feud against the Scottish Psychopath. Then, he surprisingly targeted Rey Mysterio on the last edition of SmackDown in 2022. In last week’s Friday night SmackDown, Madcap Moss defeated Rey Mysterio, Karrion Kross, and Santos Escobar for becoming the no 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship. Hence, Karrion Kross seems to be out of context for WrestleMania.
8. Ronda Rousey
From getting loved to getting booed and then getting almost no reactions, Ronda Rousey has come a very long way. Last year, she locked horns against Queen Charlotte Flair, and it was below average lethargic match. Since then, the former UFC champion has failed to connect with the fans on as well as off-mic. Rondy Rousey shockingly lost her SmackDown Women’s title on the last show of 2022 against Charlotte Flair. The Queen already has an opponent for herself in WrestleMania while Bianca Belair’s opponent will be decided at the Elimination Chamber. Hence, fitting Ronda Rousey in the frame sounds absurd.
7. Drew McIntyre
He headlined the Clash at the Castle battling against the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns in his hometown last year. But since then, his career has taken a dip. After the top card booking, he’s been indulged in a feud with Karrion Kross and he was also a part of Banger Bros but that didn’t work for him. Last year, we saw him in a mid-card match again Happy Corbin, where he was kicked out of The End of the Days. Only a good storyline can save him right now.
6. Alexa Bliss
Just the Matt Riddle, Alexa Bliss has found herself out of the promotion for a time being due to personal reasons. In addition to that, WWE has also been really non-creative for the Goddess. She was initially in an angle for the RAW Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair but she later failed to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match. As we can see things now, finding a spot in WrestleMania will be difficult for Alexa Bliss.
5. Big E
After suffering a neck injury on SmackDown against Ridge Holland in the early months of 2022, Big H is utterly out of action. The former WWE Champion shared a few pictures of him while recovering but it’s seemingly impossible to see him as a superstar having a match at WrestleMania.
4. AJ Styles
Just like Big E, Technical expect AJ Styles will also be absent at WrestleMania 39. He suffered a knee injury when he was in a match against Judgement Day at a live event. The superstar later revealed that his injury is not serious and it doesn’t require surgery, but the injury will take a long time to recover. And even if the Phenomenal One recovers, he’ll have very less time a build a legitimate feud.
3. Shinsuke Nakamura
The last time when we saw Shinsuke Nakamura in a televised fixture, it was back in November last year. However, he did work in various live events and he also went to New Japan Pro Wrestling. But it’s surely not a good sign for the former Royal Rumble winner. Last year, he was in the SmackDown tag titles equation with his partner Rick Boogs, who recently made his return in RAW. As things stand currently, it’s really difficult for the Japanese superstar to get a slot on the biggest stage.
2. Matt Riddle
It’s fair to say that Matt Riddle has a lot of talent. His match against Roman Reigns at SmackDown and his recent tag action alongside Randy Orton showed that Riddle can be a top name. But he was written off from television in December via an attack from Solo Sikoa. But the real reason behind that was his off-screen issues. The young star was sent to rehab by WWE following the cocaine abuse after he failed the drug test again.
1. Randy Orton
Randy Orton has been a star of the promotion for several years. The notorious heel who always cared about himself was always a fan favourite. But following a series of serious back issues, the ‘Legend Killer’ is missing action since last May. He has always been a huge name in the company, and not having him on the match card will be a huge blow to the promotion. According to a few reports, it was stated that Randy Orton might consider retiring from pro wrestling.
