On April 1st, before the match of the United States Championship between Austin Theory and John Cena at WrestleMania 39 on Night 1, TheMiz and Baron Corbin warned Theory about Cena. The 16 times World Champ accepted the challenge from The A Town for a match for United States Championship. At first, he was in denial but eventually accepted the challenge.
In a recent Interview Theory revealed that both the superstar warned him about John Cena and that he is going to destroy him in the ring if he does not take precautions.
He said, “Yeah, you know, Miz, Baron Corbin, sounds like all the bad guys (are who told me to be ready for my in-ring segment with John Cena). They’re just like, ‘Man, just be ready. You’re gonna get thrown out there in some deep water. Just be prepared but, you know, I had my cool sneakers on and my shades that he talked trash about and I was feeling good.”
Theory mocked them that they were sacred of Cena or something but what happened in the ring we all witnessed that. Theory defeated the 16-time Champion in a one-on-one match. Austin Theory was very cool before the match against John Cena and wasn’t scared of him at all.
He overlooked and overheard what people had to say about his match and the outcome and went to the match all motivated to show them how it’s done. He said that he wanted to shut everybody down, he wanted to prove himself, and more importantly, he wanted people to stop believing in Cena. He made it clear on the fact that it’s a new era and it is his era now.
The 25-year-old WWE star proved everyone his worth at WrestleMania, though he got lucky as the ref was knocked out when he tapped and later hit Cena with a cheap shot, still I would say he was pretty good in the ring. He was fast and quick which is obviously his main thing, but still, he was overall good. Maybe Cena fans wouldn’t agree with this.
