The new year has been quite eventful for Vince McMahon as well as WWE. Last year in July, Vince turned down as the CEO of the wrestling promotion following an ongoing investigation regarding sexual abuse charges.
Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon became the co-CEOs of the company. While Triple became the Creative Director. Several released superstars returned back to the promotion and the ratings also started hiking up. However, Vince McMahon made his return to the company earlier this month.
Initially, it was said that McMahon will not suggest or make any changes to the creatives. It was stated that his only motive to get on the board of directors was to sell the company. But the former CEO has already started making changes. It’s also rumoured that we’ll see him in the Royal Rumble.
Which Hall of Famer is released by Vince McMahon and WWE?
However, since the return of Mr McMahon, the fans are worried that everything will again become normal just like it was earlier before Triple H’s regime. Vince’s first firing since his return is WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley.
D-Von Dudley was the second half of the Dudley Boyz. The tag team gave us numerous breathtaking moments with their stunts and moves in the ring. Their rivalry with the Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian was the most iconic, especially the ladder matches.
After retiring as a professional wrestler, D-Von Dudley started working backstage with the company as a backstage producer in 2016. And recently, he was working as a coach at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
It release can be fueled because of Dudley’s independent work in Battleground Championship Wrestling. However, WWE pulled him out of the show last month. Following the release, D-Von Dudley said:
“The company (WWE)and I have decided to part ways, and feel this is the best Decision for all parties it’s been a pleasure and an honor to work with the young talent when bubba as well as everyone over in NXT. As well as working with some of the best producers in the world.”
