WWE’s most significant and biggest event of the year is just in a few days and fans can’t wait to watch “The Grandest Stage of Them All”. But before the main night, there is one episode of SmackDown left to air and in this episode, a lot is going to happen. Firstly, WWE announced the return of Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and second of all, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will come face to face yet another time.
In the promotion of the Friday Night SmackDown, WWE announced that WWE Univeral Champion Roman Reigns will come face to face with his WrestleMania opponent Cody Rhodes for the final time before the main fight between them at WrestleMania 39 on April 2nd.
Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble match in January which provided him an opportunity to have a match against Roman Reigns at the main event of WrestleMania 39 for the WWE Univeral Title which Roman has had for some 1000 days now. In 2020, Roman Reigns has crowned the WWE Universal Champion and since then nobody has had the power to dethrone him.
This time, Cody Rhodes was given this opportunity and it’s likely that Rhodes might be able to pin Roman to become the new Universal Champion and the reason for that is the shit going on in Roman Reigns’ life and in his family. But let’s see what will happen in the match.
Last Meeting of the two
The last time when Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes meet was in the last episode of Monday Night Raw, where both the superstar did nothing but tried to destroy each other verbally. First Roman attacked Cody by bringing up his father in the argument. He also mentioned how Rhodes ran all the time in his life and didn’t face actual competition.
But Cody Rhodes did him dirty when he grabbed the mic. He said to Roman that after WrestleMania he is going to lose everything. First, the Universal Title because he is going to beat him, and second his family. He said he has everything just because of that title and without it he will lose everything, even his own family will abandon him just like Jey Uso did.
That was some promo last week, let’s wait for what WWE will provide this time.
