Rhea Ripley tore the house down with her hard hitting match against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 and was the main highlight of the first night. During an interview Ripley accepted the fact that her match should’ve main evented the mega event.
WrestleMania 39 proved to be a slug fest involving mega matches including Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes being in the main event of night 2 which was already scheduled since the Royal Rumble. However, as for the night 1 it was a tough choice as to which match might get the main event spot between Sami and Owens vs. The Usos and Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair.
Ultimately, the tag team match was locked in the main event for night 1 which got a huge reception from the crowd as Sami and Owens won the tag team championships in a fast paced match giving the crowd something to cheer about.
Despite not being in the main event, Rhea vs. Charlotte delivered a grueling thriller match and tore the house down.The match was delivered above everyone’s expectations as it was hard hitting and gave an edge of the seat experience to all the fans present inside the SoFi stadium during WrestleMania.
For a match of this level, for many fans it deserved the main event spot and were unhappy with the booking of it in between the show. To which, Ripley herself expressed grief by stating that she and Charlotte proved why they deserved to be on the main event of the show while being on WWE After the Bell.
Rhea stated that she felt like she and Charlotte stole the show and gave everything what they had in that ring and proved everyone why they deserved to be in the main event spot. Rhea accepted the fact that they did not have a good build like Sami and Owens but they both bring brutality everytime they meet each other in the ring and beat the hell out of each other. She was happy to see the praises and appreciation she got for having a match like that and delivering on the big level.
