IYO SKY had her debut match just last year and has become part of the main roster quite easily. With her stable mates Dakota Kai and Bayley, the Damage CTRL was looking just unstoppable. However, their recent stints have not been up to the mark and it’s looking downhill for her character.
Since WrestleMania 39, Iyo Sky has been receiving more opportunities, but her progress has been hindered by the group. In recent weeks, Sky has been giving Bayley annoyed looks, causing fans to speculate that she will turn face soon. This could also mean the end of Damage CTRL.
Dakota Kai, a crucial member of Damage CTRL is injured and most likely will not appear rest of the year. Let’s see if Iyo and Bayley keep it up as Damage CTRL or will damage each other without any control. IYO SKY’s future with Bayley might be a little unstable but whatever transpires, the audience is sure to enjoy their engagement.
Iyo Sky 4-time WWE champion
In 2017, The Genius of The Sky joined Vince McMahon’s company after leaving Japan. She quickly made an impact on the developmental brand and participated in the Mae Young Classic, where she lost to Toni Storm in the finals. After a year in NXT, she turned heel for the first time and feuded with Candice LeRae. She eventually won the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair at NXT In Your House. She lost the title to Raquel Rodriguez but later won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with Zoey Stark by defeating The Way’s Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell.
Last year, she joined the main roster and won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, alongside Dakota Kai as part of Damage CTRL. It will be interesting to see when Sky ends up leaving the Damage CTRL.
Bayley and Iyo Sky qualified for the Money in the Bank match
On June 9, the last episode of WWE SmackDown, Bayley seized her spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, as she claimed the win over Michigan in a qualifying bout.
In the next one, the second women’s qualifying match of the night, Bayley’s partner IYO SKY in Damage CTRL, claimed her spot in the Money in the Bank match. Iyo defeated Shotzi. SKY hit a moonsault for the win.
Money in the Bank ladder match for a women’s championship match contract is Zelina Vega vs. Becky Lynch vs. Zoey Stark vs. Bayley vs. Iyo Sky vs. 1 TBD.
It will be fun watching Damage CTRL partners, Bayley and Iyo Sky competing on opposite sides of each other. May the deserving claim the Money Bank.
