All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Kenny Omega’s contract is going to expire really soon and it is rumored that he is willing to join WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kenny Omega’s contract with AEW was 4 years long, that was when the company started in 2019, and as of January Omega’s contract should have expired but due to his injuries that made him unavailable for months. This allowed him to continue for a few more months but now his contract is expiring. However, it is not expected when will it happen as the length is not estimated but it was rumored that after the expiration of his contract with AEW, he is likely to join WWE.
It was reported by Dave that he will remain under contract with AEW till November of this year but the time is not finalized as of now. Since there is no update on the renewal of the contract, it was expected that we might see Kenny Omega in World Wrestling Entertainment.
Will it be the first time Kenny Omega visits WWE?
No, it will not be his first time as in 2005 in a promotion for WWE’s one of the oldest organizations, Deep South Wrestling (DSW), which lasted for only two years and then sold to WWE in 1988.
Kenny Omega was a part of this organization back in 2005 when he was just starting off his career as a professional wrestler. But his visit wasn’t a present one as the wrestler told in an interview that at that time he thought of giving up and how this wasn’t meant for him.
He said, “It wasn’t for me. At that point, I had thought maybe wrestling isn’t for me because I was thinking at the highest level, when it becomes more of a business rather than a passion. Maybe I’m not the businessman that I thought that I was, maybe I was never meant to be at the highest level. Things are meant to be micromanaged. Maybe it isn’t what made me fall in love with wrestling to begin with,”
I guess these kinds of thoughts always came up in a person’s mind when they were struggling in their lives. Some gave up and some did not and Kenny Omega didn’t give up. But will he give up AEW for WWE?
