WWE Superstar Gunther retain his WWE Intercontinental title against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple threat match at WrestleMania and the match was a total banger. On the internet and several social media platforms, the match was named the best of the night. Even “Kicks were flying in the game” is used to define the game and even the Sports Journalist Ariel Helwani was impressed but didn’t think it was people’s main event.
Last night after swapping up the final day of WrestleMania, Ariel Helwani gave an interview with BT Sports and in that interview, he said that he didn’t think it was the people’s main event of the night. According to him the term “People’s Main Event” is misunderstood. However, he was impressed by that game.
He also said whenever Gunther loses the belt, it is going to be big, he even compared it with Roman. He said, “I don’t love triple threats, and after Gunther told me himself on Thursday he doesn’t like triple threats, I was kinda like he is not gonna bring it…..
“They all brought it, that was incredible stuff, Right? Physical, compelling… Thought Sheamus would get it, thought Drew would get it… Gunther retains Rookie of the year.”
He further said, “Again talking about the main event, he has made that belt feel important, feel big, so whenever he loses it’s gonna be a big deal, just like Roman’s, Right?
He even appreciates the opponents’ struggle to win the match, he continued by saying, “I mean even Sheamus’s struggle to get that belt made that belt feel important, Right? and I kinda hope he gets it one day at some point.”
So for him, it was an amazing match but still Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes remains the People’s main event, and WrestleMania’s main event as well.
So the whole point was that the event was incredible and provided us with some of the great matches in recent times. Some wins excite us and some may disappoint us but overall it was the perfect mania that everyone was hoping for.
