Some WWE storylines have been really intriguing. However, some of them include more than one or two WWE superstars. WWE has always used stables to build a specific storyline or to test a few superstars together. And it is a proven fact that these stables have more potential as a heel. So, let’s look at the best stables in the history of WWE.
7 best stables in the history of WWE
7. The Wyatt Family
The Wyatt Family was a brilliant stable. On the same side, it was NXT’s first attempt at an upper hand on the main roster. The original trio consisted of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. But Vince McMahon and company broke the stable too early. Although they had successful feuds with top names like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Kane and The Shield.
6. The Shield
The Shield was initially hired as a stable just because of CM Punk. But their calibre was much greater than just attacking a single superstar. The Hounds of Justice defeated almost everyone from the roster. As a trio, Dean Ambrose held the United States title while Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were the tag champions. After parting ways in 2014, all three superstars went on to taste greater success.
5. Evolution
In 2003, WWE decided to make a new stable that resembled Four Horseman with a slight glimpse of D-GENERATION X. Nature Boy Ric Flair was added to the stable as a bridge between Four Horseman and Evolution. The goal of the stable was to make Triple H the WWE champion. After Hunter gets the title, all the other members will make sure that he remains the champion. The members were Ric Flair, Randy Orton, Triple H, and Batista.
4. The Corporate Ministry
This stable was formed after the leader of the Ministry of darkness, The Undertaker shook hands with Shane McMahon’s Corporation. Here, two factions merged to make a new and powerful stable in WWE. Consequently, this table ended under Vince McMahon.
3. The Hart foundation
The 2019 Hall of Famer inductee, the Hart Foundation initially started as a tag team. The pioneers of the Hart Foundation were Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and Bret “The Hitman” Hart alongside manager Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart. But the faction was broken due to the individual success of the superstars. Consequently, after Bret Hart turned his heel, he again introduced the Hart Foundation to life. It involved Owen Hart, British Bulldog and Jim Neidhart. The stable held the WWE title, the Intercontinental Championship and also the tag titles.
2. Four Horseman
Four Horseman was formed in 1986 in the NWA and lasted until the late stages of WCW in 1999. The original group consisted of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, and Tully Blanchard. Interestingly, Four Horseman is also the longest-running stable in history. Although the later members of the stable included Chris Benoit, Brian Pillman, Steve McMichael, Curt Hennig and Dean Malenko.
1. D-GENERATION X
D-GENERATION X started in 1997 and it is widely regarded as the greatest stable in the history of WWE. It began with Triple H and Shawn Michaels as the trailblazers of the stable with their bodyguards Chyna and Ravishing Rick Rude. During the primes, the stable consisted of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. We can even see a glimpse of D-GENERATION X in Judgement Day led by Finn Balor.
