It’s the second month of the year and it’s the time for Elimination Chamber. After a successful January, WWE would surely be looking forward to making the most out of the second month too. The match card for this year’s Elimination Chamber is already set and it’s filled with superstars. From Roman Reigns to Brock Lesnar, we’re going to see many big superstars battling in the huge steel structure.
The event will take place at Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, on 18 February. Interestingly, Sami Zayn will be the homeboy just like Drew McIntyre was at Clash at the Castle. It’s also stated in a few reports that we can see a few returns at the pay-per-view. Anyways, let’s take a look at the match card of the Elimination Chamber.
Matches in this year’s Elimination Chamber
1. Undisputed WWE universal championship match: Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn
The whole Bloodline plot has been really intriguing for the WWE universe. From Sami Zayn joining the heel stable as the ‘Honorary Uce’ and becoming the most loved superstar in the roster to giving a reply to the humiliation done by Roman Reigns with a chair, everything has been peak cinema. Moreover, there is something cooking in the Bloodline because Jey Uso is also not completely on either side.
It was reported that the Tribal Chief will lose one of his titles before facing the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. But still, Roman Reigns losing against Sami Zayn is highly unlikely.
Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns
2. Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley
The rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley is yet to find a proper climax. Both superstars have found each other in the ring on five occasions, three of them were multi-men matches while two of them were single matches. Initially, Bobby defeated Brock on Day 1. Then, Lesnar Injured the Almighty in last year’s steel structure match which left Lashley unable to continue.
However, It looked the things have came to an end when Lesner defeated Lashley at Crown Jewel in November. But when the Almighty eliminated the Beast Incarnate from the Royal Rumble match, the feud got a new life.
Predicted Winner: Bobby Lashley
3. Men’s Elimination Chamber for United States Championship: Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Bronson Reed vs. Damian Priest vs. Montez Ford
Last year, we saw Austin Theory getting annihilated at the hands of the Beast Incarnate in the Elimination Chamber. However this year, he’ll walk in the chamber as the United States Champion. Theory was the absolute favourite of Vince McMahon and after his departure, he suffered a wreak but Triple H is also booking him well. However, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, Damian Priest and Montez Ford have made a place for themselves in the match. Hence, it will be a great mid-card match to see.
Predicted Winner: Johnny Gargano
4. Women’s Elimination Chamber: Asuka vs. Liv Morgan vs. Nikki Cross vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya vs. Carmella
The winner of the match will go to Hollywood and lock horns against WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at WrestleMania. To simply be the participants in the match, WWE has always used Carmella and Nikki Cross in the mid-card. Moreover, they tried pushing Natalya and Raquel Rodriguez in recent times, but that failed. Liv Morgan can give a worthy contest to Asuka but she’s the new makeover of “the Empress of Tomorrow” puts her a step ahead in the match.
Predicted Winner: Asuka
5. Mixed tag team match: Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley vs Edge and Beth Phoenix
After Edge was kicked out as the leader of Judgement Day in June, things started getting heated. The Judgement Day also locked horns against the pair of Rey Mysterio and Edge. And there, the son of Rey, Dominik Mysterio betrayed his father as well as his tag partner. Then, he joined forces with the heel stable and now we’re here. The R-Rated superstar suffered an injury earlier and because of that, he was out of action for a time period.
A no-disqualification match between Finn Balor and Edge was planned to be held at the Royal Rumble. But because the R-Rated superstar wasn’t ready to fight utterly, the plans were cancelled. However, Edge introduced his wife, Beth Phoenix to equal the Rhea Ripley advantage. Consequently, we’ll finally see Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley facing Edge and Beth Phoenix.
Predicted Winner: Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley
