Movies are inspiring. Good movies motivate one to become a better himself. This phenomenon also impacted WWE Superstar Edge as in a recent report he told that he watched Rocky Balboa before returning to WWE in 2020.
As we all know, Edge took early retirement from his wrestling career in 2011 but after 9 years he made a surprise return at the Royal Rumble 2020. It was very surprising for fans to see The Rated R Superstar again in the competition.
His return apart from surprising, was very big because he even won that Royal Rumble match at the age of 47, like he was almost 50 but won the Rumble. But why wouldn’t he perform like that? He told on IMPULSIVE, that he watched Rocky Balboa before returning to WWE, which is a boxing movie, and a hell of inspiring.
The 49-year-old superstar said that he watched the movie just two nights before his return and the monologues from the star actor Sylvester Stallone was all on his mind. Those dialogues kept motivating him. He really relates to the main character of the movie where the character who is old trying to come back. This made his eye watery.
He said, “But I feel like this run is like Rocky Balboa movie. I watched it two nights before my comeback. And I was in tears because of Stallone’s monologue in it were all things that were going in my mind.”
Edge said he might be at WWE for like at most a year
As we did an article on this, what Edge did do in an interview about his retirement? At IMPUSLIVE Edge told he will be at WWE for like at most a year. Where he still can compete at the top level, after that he will finish his wrestling journey.
He said, “At most, I might have another year in me to be still able to do at an elite level where I can still hang on. I gotta get in with Austin Theory who is 25. He wasn’t born when I had my first match for WWE.”
So we can say that he is in the final time of his career. Though he is performing well even at this age, still, he has other things to do in his life.
