Recently WWE superstar Drew McIntyre’s Twitter was blacked out and it is rumored that it is because the star has not come to an agreement with the company for the contract renewal. He deleted his bio and removed the display picture and the cover photo, except the Twitter handle which is still @DMcIntyreWWE. It was reported that the WWE star has left with only 9 months in his contract with the company on the current deal.
McIntyre was absent on the April 7th episode of SmackDown as per the reports it was due to some injuries the two-time World Champ was unavailable. However, a week later on April 14th, the star was still missing. It took no time for fans to notice something fishy as McIntyre removed everything from his Twitter.
As per a report from PWInsider, Drew McIntyre and WWE are “far off on the new potential deal”. Another report came in which explained the reasons behind his absence from the last two episodes of the Blue roster, which is that he was busy doing the promotional stuff for SmackDown. For the past two weeks, he did a lot of interviews to promote SmackDown taping locally in Nebraska.
American Journalist on PWTorch, Wade Keller reported that McIntyre is actually unhappy with his position in the company and there are possibilities that he could let the deal go unless he was offered something good and worth staying.
Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 39
McIntyre was last seen wrestling at WrestleMania 39 in a Triple Threat Match against Sheamus and Gunther for Intercontinental Title. The match was great and even considered the best match of the night. As per Ariel Helwani, the match though not the People’s Main Event but the energy and efforts from the players made the title worth much more.
The match was brilliantly won by Gunther to retain his title but McIntyre and Sheamus in the match were just phenomenal. The match was truly WrestleMania worthy which elevated the title value.
