After an exhausting wait, fans finally saw Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns together in the ring and it became an emotional set after Cody Rhodes delivers some kind words. Cody didn’t want any action before the actual fight instead he wanted to have a conversation with his opponent, man to man and truly it became a memorial one.
So last January at Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes made his return to the wrestling world with a banger as he became the Royal Rumble winner as the #30 contender. This gave him an opportunity to be at WrestleMania’s main event against Roman Reigns for his WWE Universal Title and after weeks of no interaction whatsoever between the two superstars, they finally came face to face in the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown live.
First, the show opened with The Bloodline with Roman Reigns who talked about their previous misery and later he wanted the crowd to acknowledge him and that’s when Cody Rhodes enters the scene, perfect timing right? The whole crowd started his name, he became the star of the night and obviously, The Head of the Table didn’t like that.
Rhodes enters the ring and questions why Roman always needs his cousins and his counsel Paul Hayman by his side. After a little chit-chat between them and constant support from the crowd pissed Roman Really off and he started to impersonate Dusty Rhodes, father of Cody Rhodes who once was a WWE Superstar. After all of that, in the end, Cody Rhodes shook hands with Roman Reigns and said, “May the best man win”.
Roman Reigns will be defending his WWE Universal Title against the Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes at the main event of WrestleMania 39 on April 2nd, 2023. This is one of those confirmed matches of the event, the whole match card for the WrestleMania 39 is yet to be declared.
