WrestleMania is among one of the biggest events of the year and it’s truly the biggest event in WWE. The 39th edition of such a big program is set to launch on the 1st and 2nd of April of 2023. So now as we all know WrestleMania 39 is in less than a month, and WWE is still working on the match cards for the event.
Some matches got confirmation like Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes for WWE Universal Title at the main event as Cody Rhodes the winner of the Royal Rumble got an opportunity to fight for WWE Universal Title. WWE Raw Women’s Championship match between Bianca Belair and Asuka and etc.
Among them, there was another match, which however didn’t get the official green light from the company but many of us were believing that it might happen and that is a match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. Lashley and Lesnar got a history, both superstars faced each other many times, most recently at WWE Elimination Chamber in 2023 which was won by Lashley after that match fans were believing that their brawl would continue for a little while, at least for WrestleMania 39 but somehow WWE think to that they need new opponents.
Now Bobby Lashley was set up to have a fight against Bray Wyatt and Brock Lesnar was given the worst opponent, Omos. So from watching Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley we got Omos up against the Beast Incarnate. Now according to various rumors which are being circulated in WWE about changing the plan was that Omos didn’t get much time on Television. Believable, right?
According to Justin Barrasso, the real reason behind it was that WWE was thinking to book Brock Lesnar vs Stone Cold Steve Austin. However, this rumor seemed senseless as Stone Cold got a neck injury, and getting a suplex from Brock could become a reason to retire himself, or even worse. So refusing the offer by Stone Cold Steve Austin ruined the plans of WWE once again and instead of him, The Beast was given Omos for WrestleMania 39.
