With their upcoming match at Night Of Champions, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus are supposedly scheduled to have a trilogy of matches to end their rivalry.
Later this month, at the Night of Champions pay-per-view on Saturday, May 27, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch will square off in a singles competition for the first time ever. A contract signing was scheduled for May 22 to finalize Lynch vs. Stratus. It was also announced that the bout will take place on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
As reported by Fightful Select, early plans intended for the Lynch and Stratus program to extend past the May 27 pay-per-view. This suggests that the feud between the two rivals will continue after Night of Champions. The rivalry may develop into a trilogy with clashes at Night of Champions, Money in the Bank, and SummerSlam. Rreports from back in March did indicate that Lynch and Stratus would be feuding until SummerSlam.
REVISITING THE RIVALRY BETWEEN BECKY LYNCH AND TRISH STRATUS SO FAR
The feud between both the superstars began after WrestleMania when Trish turned on Becky attacking her from behind.
After WrestleMania, Lynch and Lita were scheduled to defend the Women’s tag team championships against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. Lita was unable to compete due to a backstage attack made on her making Trish join forces with Becky to take on the challengers. They lost the tag team championships which made Becky console Trish over their loss. Stratus in return delivered a Chick Kick to Becky turning on her and becoming a heel.
Becky was not seen on TV for a couple of weeks after the attacks. Lita and Lynch held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title jointly for a while. However, Trish Stratus asserted that Lita supported Lynch and eventually became her sidekick. To put Lita “out of her misery” and make it obvious that she was the one who lost Lynch her title, according to Stratus, she killed Lita.
During another in-ring segment, Trish called out to Becky to confront her face-to-face. She demanded her return from absence calling out her daughter as ‘dumb’. Trish Stratus said some unpleasant words about Lynch during their confrontation. After that, she was surprised to hear Lynch’s entrance theme music. However, it turned out to be a no-show.
Stratus then went back to mocking Lynch. However, Lynch’s music hit again and this time Lynch was really there, appearing behind Trish. After a few aggressive moves, Lynch performed the Becksploder on Stratus.
This forced Trish to roll out of the ring and run away while Lynch challenged her to a match.
