A lot of people, even WWE superstars sometimes fall prey to scammers and fake accounts impersonating them. Recently, WWE superstar Asuka called out Facebook for giving her official badge to an account impersonating her.
The Empress of Tomorrow opened up about her issue on Twitter. Apparently, a fake account on Facebook got her clout when the social media platform mistakenly gave Asuka’s official badge to that account. It’s a pretty dangerous thing to happen, as scammers may use the official badge in order to scam other people, pretending to be the real person.
Asuka spoke about this issue when she addressed Facebook in a post on Twitter.
“Dear Mr. @facebook . You have previously removed my official account’s official badge as a fake. You also made my account unavailable on several occasions. My account has since been made available again. But in the meantime, you gave my fake account the official badge. Since then, the fake me has become the official me. I think Facebook is causing misunderstanding and inconvenience to many people.”
She informed her fans on Twitter that the person with a verified account of her name is not actually her. This could have easily caused many misunderstandings, as scammers are known to use the identity of a famous celebrity to trick people.
A similar incident happened in 2021 when Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan. This incident went down after RAW went off-air. Apparently, the fan was tricked by a scammer pretending to be Seth Rollins. He, therefore, decided to take his anger out on The Visionary of WWE. This incident goes to show just how dangerous scammers are, even without an official badge.
When will Asuka return to WWE?
Following her loss to RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39, The Empress of Tomorrow has been absent from WWE Television.
Many believed that Asuka would be the one to dethrone Bianca Belair. However, The EST of WWE prevailed and is now the longest-reigning women’s champion of the modern era. Since then, Asuka has not appeared on TV for over a month. Fans have been wondering whether she quietly left the company.
Fortunately, Asuka was drafted to SmackDown in this year’s draft. It’s expected that she will make her return soon in the upcoming weeks. She has also teased her return a few times with cryptic messages on Twitter. Only time will tell when she does end up returning to WWE.
