Cody Rhodes is one of the oldest faces at WWE who had a career with lots of ups and downs and a lot of changes. Recently in a live event of WWE, The American Nightmare completed his 1500th match which made him the fourth player with the most number of games in his career.
Former WWE superstar and Hall of Famer Kane tops the list with 1791 games followed by Dolph Ziggler and Big Show with the same number of games for the position of 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Cody Rhodes’ chivalrous career in WWE
Rhodes kicked off his career in 2006 with ECW. In 2007 he got televised after properly getting into WWE. For his first match, he partnered up with Hardcore Hall for a tag team match and after seeing his skills in a tag team game, WWE set him up with Ted DiBiase Jr. and Damien Sandow later that year and with them, he won the Tag Team Title.
He was having a fine career but it got a little boost up when he started a rivalry with Randy Orton after betraying him. Well obviously he didn’t win against ‘The Viper’, most of the time but it was the time when his career got recognition. That rivalry lasted till the WrestleMania of 2011 when he faced him but lost.
This rivalry helped him to start a new storyline of ‘Dashing’, Cody Rhodes, and with it, he even become the WWE Intercontinental champion. That was his first individual belt in the company.
After losing the title he joined hands with his half-brother ‘GoldDust’ and with him he renamed himself StarDust. The StarDust attire didn’t bring him much on the plate, as it was more like a joker and comic character that was used for entertainment purposes from time to time.
Later this character became one of the reasons for his departure from the company and started his own company with Tony Khan, AEW in 2019 which is the biggest competitor of WWE right now.
After leaving AEW, he returned to WWE earlier this year on a Royal Rumble match and even walked out as the winner of the 30-man match. This gave him a star opportunity to fight Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 for WWE Universal Title but he lost in the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania39 and now is having a feud with the ‘Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar.
