After Johnny’s absence from WWE, there were rumors that Vince McMahon’s return to the company has something to do with it but according to Fightful that is certainly not the case, in fact, Vince wanted him to stay with the company. According to them, in late 2021 Vince was involved in communicating with Johnny Gargano directly to tell him that he wanted him to stay at WWE.
WWE Superstar Johnny Gargano was absent from the roster since NXT Stand and Deliver when he had a fight against Grayson Waller. In that match, he injured his shoulder. He has re-aggravated his injury on his return at this year’s Royal Rumble match.
That was Gargano’s return since he left the company in December 2021 after his contract with WWE got expired. After returning to Royal Rumble he got himself injured. But the problem started when he didn’t stop for recovery. In fact, after March 4th, he had a dozen of matches that worsen his injury, and by the time of Stand and Deliver to fight against Greyson Waller he was barely able to use his second hand. In that match, he participated with only one hand.
Since then, he has finally gone for recovery and WWE suggested he take physical treatment rather than relying on surgery. Fans are giving their best wishes to the star to get back on track as soon as possible. And between that, there was some speculation that he left because of Vince. Well, now it’s obvious that is not true. Vince was the one who wanted him to stay in the company even after he got replaced.
Johnny Gargano began his career in 2005 on the independent wrestling scene. He signed with WWE in 2015 and began wrestling in their developmental brand NXT. He quickly became one of the most beloved and successful wrestlers in NXT history, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship twice and the NXT North American Championship once.
