Last night was full of excitement as it was Royal Rumble. From the tag team match to The main event, everything was top-notch. Now if we came back to the topic of Cody Rhodes who created history last night by winning his first-ever Royal Rumble match.
Rhodes was the 30th contender of the match and after eliminating Gunther who entered as #1, he entered the list of players who won the Royal Rumble as the 30th participant like Brock Lesnar in 2022, John Cena in 2008, and The Undertaker in 2007.
He even broke the 30-year-long record of the Rumble that number #27 produced the most winners (i.e. 4). But after Cody’s win, coming as number 30, now #30 has the most winners which are 5 winners and by this, he broke the 30-year-long record which was created in 1993.
Cody Rhodes’ dream is just one step away
When Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 last year, he announced in public that he was going to be a WWE World Champion and now after his Royal Rumble win, his dream of becoming one is just one step away. Like every time, the 30-man Rumble winner gets a match for the WWE’s World Title at WrestleMania’s main event and now it is Cody Rhodes’ turn.
Roman Reigns currently holds the WWE World title and Universal title, and Rhodes needs to have good preparation if he wants his dream to turn into reality.
The American Nightmare was once a player at All Elite Wrestling but later he drops his contract with them. A few months later he was seen at the 38th edition of WrestleMania where he put up a fight against Seth Rollins but Cody got an injury in that match. He tore his Pectoral muscles which saw him out of the wrestling world for nearly eight months.
And coming back from an injury and even winning the Royal Rumble of WWE made it clear that he is going to complete his dream of being a WWE World Champion. Well, we will see him in WrestleMania where he has to face the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for that position.
