This week’s edition of WWE Raw saw quite a lot of confrontations with Edge calling out Balor tonight and John Cena mocking Austin Theory when he challenged Cena for a match. We are still a few weeks away from WrestleMania, so WWE is taking their time building up the feuds between the superstars.
In case you missed it, we are covering this week’s edition of Raw, so read till the end!
The show kicked off with Edge calling out Finn Balor to the stage to finally settle their disputes once and for all. Balor came out with the rest of the Judgement Day. The Rated-R Superstar mocked the members of the Judgement Day, saying that each one of them looked like a character of the Addams Family(it sounded way funnier than it should have) and challenged The Irishman to a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania. Balor accepted and proceeded to the ring with the rest of Judgement Day. They ganged up on Edge, who was being kicked around in the ring until Johnny Gargano, Dexter Lumis and Candice LeRae came out to back him up.
Johnny Gargano & Dexter Lumis vs The Judgement Day
This match started after the commercial and we see Dominik and Damian Priest take on Johnny and Dexter Lumis. After getting pummeled by Johnny Wrestling for some time, Dominik tagged in Priest while Johnny tagged in Lumis. Surprisingly there wasn’t a lot of cheating on behalf of The Judgement Day.
As Priest was about to score the pinfall on Johnny, Candice LeRae interfered, who was then thrown into the barricades by Ripley. After getting hit with the South Of Heaven, Priest scored the fall on Lumis. This was a pretty solid match which saw chaos unfold outside the ring, and overall was a solid start to this week’s Raw.
Next up was a segment between Brock and Omos, where MVP and Omos called him out to the ring. They mocked Brock for accepting Omos’ challenge. Brock came out to the ring and Omos tried to intimidate Brock by showing him how big his hand is. He reached out for a handshake but refused to let Brock’s hand go. They got into a little fight, which ended with Omos throwing Brock over the ropes. The Beast Incarnate retreats, for now.
Cody Rhodes vs LA Knight
In the second match of the night, we see LA Knight take on Cody Rhodes in a singles match. This match was pretty action-packed and had a lot of near falls, with Knight having a near fall of his own. However, The American Nightmare hit Knight with a Cross Rhodes to secure the pinfall.
After the match, Cody got on the mic and went off on Roman Reigns, saying that Reigns needs to acknowledge him. Cody said that he plans on ending Reigns’ historical run at WrestleMania.
Bronson Reed vs Elias
After a short confrontation last week, Elias faced off against Bronson Reed tonight. This was a pretty short match as Reed made light work of Elias. Elias tried to fight back but was ultimately no match as Reed put him out with a power slam before going up on the ropes and hitting him with a Tsunami splash for the win.
Austin Theory vs Angelo Dawkins
Austin Theory wanted to prove to John Cena and everyone else that he was ready, so he took on Angelo Dawkins after a backstage confrontation with The Street Profits. Dawkins got a near fall after hitting Theory with a big suplex. Theory, however, picked up the victory after hitting Dawkins with a big strike and an A-Town Down. After the match, Theory hit Dawkins with the STF, before Montez came out to stop it.
Next up was another segment with Dominik Mysterio and his father, Rey Mysterio. Dominik continued to berate his father before challenging him to a match at WrestleMania. The Master of 619, however, refused to fight his own son.
Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin
This match was the result of a backstage confrontation between Rollins, Corbin and The Miz, where Corbin offered boxing lessons to Seth for his upcoming match against Logan Paul. Rollins however, mocked Corbin saying that he would rather take boxing lessons “from his baby daughter”.
This match was a pretty short and disappointing match, considering the history between the two. Rollins hit the stomp on Corbin, securing his victory.
Bianca Belair vs Chelsea Green
At the beginning, Green was overpowered by her opponent, so she tried to get in some cheap shots. Belair hit her with the suplex, sending Carmella, who accompanied Green, off the apron and hitting Green with the KOD to secure the three-count. This match was overall uneventful as it just seemed like a squash match for Green.
Kevin Owens vs Solo Sikoa
This was the main event of the night- Kevin Owens and Solo Sikoa in a Street Fight match. Before Owens even made it to the ring, he was attacked by Sikoa. Both of them brawled at the ringside.
This match was as hard-hitting as you would expect it to be. It was brutal and both competitors took full advantage of the Street Fight rule. Their brawl even reached backstage. As expected, the Usos interfered so their cousin could pick up the victory. They attacked him backstage and dragged him into the ring with Sikoa. They hit superkicks on Owens and Sikoa finished him off with a Samoan Spike for the win.
