Triple H took over the ‘chief’ crown from Vince last summer. Mr. McMahon was asked to step down amid an investigation by the WWE board of directors where he was accused of sexual misconduct and hush money.
After the retirement of Vince McMahon, Triple H was named the new “head of creative” and later named WWE’s Chief Content Officer. At the same time, Stephanie Mahon was named the chairwoman and co-CEO of WWE, alongside Nick Khan. During the fourth quarter, Triple H also shared how happy he was with this position.
Everything changed this year when Vince showed his intention of returning to WWE. On January 6, he was welcomed by the WWE as the board of directors, which also marked the resignation of Stephanie Mahon.
Soon after his addition to the board, there were reports and rumors about how Mr. Boss was keen on selling the company to a private firm. Many huge investors from all around the globe were seen as interested in the idea. The reports about the company being sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund spread like wildfire.
Triple H’s views on Vince McMahon’s return
Recently in the direction of business perspective, WWE hosted an investors call, which led to a discussion regarding the return of Mr. McMahon to the WWE board. Where surprisingly H praised the former chief and spoke up about Vince being a value-adding asset to the company. Here is what Triple said during the conversation:
“I want to reiterate just how excited I am and how much fun I am having in my role as Chief Content Officer,” Triple H talks about his role at WWE and how fun it is to be a Chief Content Officer at the company.
“And I also want to add that having Vince around has been great. And I will tell you this, it will allow me to speak for our entire creative team, that we’re standing on the shoulders of giants,” Triple talks about Vince’s return and his great contribution to building the company.
“So having him back and involved, even at just The Board level, comes with his incredible insight, and he is a tremendous asset to this company…I look forward to continuing to build the business alongside this leadership team for the long term,” Triple H endorses Vince McMahon’s return for the first time since his arrival at the desk.
With the ongoing changes in the board, there are still theories that think Vince will take back his place as creative head no matter what the current public statements are and all these words from Triple H were just to please the investors trying to hide the actual tension in the company.
