Professional Wrestling is a very tough business to be in. Everyone in the business wants to overcome everyone else to reach the top of the company. There is a lot of competition involved in this business. It’s a lot more difficult to keep your competition aside while performing along with another wrestler. But there are some wrestlers who are popular for their work ethics. WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton has showered praise on three contemporary wrestling stars including Sheamus for their unparalleled work ethics and dedication to their craft.
Heels and Babyface are two very important elements of a wrestling company. WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton on the Wrestling Shoot Interviews podcast talked about several wrestling-related topics and issues. In that very interview, Morton was also asked about the responsibilities of a good heel in the sports entertainment industry.
To which Morton responded that the best heel in this business is the wrestlers who bury the opponent’s partner, bury the referee and even bury the fans present in the arena. Morton also noted that the switch that happens when the Babyface comes in the ring is what makes a heel more vulnerable and effective.
Continuing on the same topic Morton went on to mention the best WWE worker according to him. Morton said, “You know who is the great worker that you know I watch a lot is Sheamus at WWE. You have got to understand that he works hard. He lays it in. But you notice he is not doing stuff to you and keep covering it. That’s just watching Walkover people. That’s why he is doing that because he is not trying to kill himself off and he is keeping you up.”
Morton then went on to praise Sheamus for his work and also mentioned his reaction to watching Sheamus wrestle for the first time. Morton said, “First time I watched Sheamus work. I went Hell Man. This guy is f*cking great. He knows what he is doing.”
Morton Names Other Current Generation Wrestlers Who He Thinks Has Cracked The Business
Morton in his podcast did not limit himself to Sheamus, as he also named another wrestler whom he thinks has got the business. The first name that he took was that of CM Punk. According to Morton Punk is the individual who knows and understands the business. Morton went on to say, “CM Punk is the credit to our business because he understands what other people don’t understand.”
Morton then said that according to him Chirs Jericho is the wrestler who has absolutely cracked the business to the core. Ricky then went on to give a shout-out to Jericho for his work ethic. Morton said, ” Chris made a lot of money in this business. Jericho is a Rock Star. But what gets me is you and nobody else knows how much he takes care of people. A lot of people in this business that he took care of, they don’t even have to ask him. He is just there.”
Morton then went on to state that Jericho has done a lot for this business and the people surrounding it. Morton said that whenever anyone from the wrestling industry dies, Chris Jericho pays for everything. Ricky got a bit emotional but he continued that he is very grateful to know that there is someone in the business who at least care about these things.
