The former YouTuber and boxer turned professional wrestler, Logan Paul reveals the fight with the MMA Legend that “almost” happened.
“The Maverick” recently spoke with BT Sport and Ariel Helwani about a match that never happened. Recently, Paul revealed that a match with an MMA star was in the works, but it ended up never happening. His opponent’s name was not revealed at that time. However, in an interview with BT Sport, he said that the man he was supposed to face was none other than the UFC icon, Nate Diaz.
Logan Paul has not stepped into the boxing ring since his exhibition match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. His only other professional boxing match was a loss to another YouTuber/boxer, KSI. He joined WWE back in 2021 and since then, has impressed all the fans that had doubted him. Paul is currently booked to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39. Fans have wondered whether The Maverick would return to the world of boxing.
Logan Paul confirmed that he is planning to return to the squared circle sometime this year, and his opponent could be the UFC icon, Nate Diaz. Paul said that he and his team were closing in on a potential match against Nate Diaz. That match almost happened-but Diaz ended up pulling out of the said match.
“I think this guy might be running from me…We have the sweetest deal for him. He knows the type of numbers that I’d bring in and I’m a 0-1 YouTuber, seems like an easy fight no?…It’s Nate Diaz. Yeah, It’s Nate Diaz. I thought I had something locked in, then he called and said the fight is off.”
Logan Paul later confirmed that the fight may still happen. He believes that Diaz, given his status in UFC, shouldn’t be afraid of a YouTuber like Paul, who has a 0-1 record. He further said that he would probably need to “throw” more money at Nate Diaz for him to agree to a match.
Logan Paul to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39
The Maverick is currently facing off against The Visionary, Seth Rollins at The Showcase Of The Immortals. They have been feuding for quite a while, with Paul getting the upper hand on Rollins in every one of their confrontations.
Their feud began when Logan Paul entered the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match and eliminated Rollins from the match. He also attacked The Visionary in his match against Austin Theory at Elimination Chamber, costing him a title win.
With WrestleMania, just 1 day away, who do you think will win? The Visionary or The Maverick? Stay tuned to find out!
