Eva Marie, a former WWE superstar and Total Divas member, teases potential return to WWE in a much darker persona.
Eva Marie signed with WWE in 2013. She had a 4-year run with the company before being released in 2017. She was later re-signed to the company in 2021. However, she fell victim to budget cuts and layoffs in 2021 and was released once again. This time, Marie has hinted at a potential third run with the company.
In a recent YouTube video titled “how I became a WWE superstar…”, Eva Marie talks about being in talks with WWE Studios about potential movies, etc. She also addressed the possibility of her eventual return to the company, answering with a vague “maybe”.
“The talks of me coming back to WWE, it’s one of those things where I know you guys want a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer and the truth is it’s ‘maybe.’ I was just in talks with WWE Studios talking about ideas, and movies, and TV. And then obviously that door is always open potentially of coming back. Who knows, Eva Marie could come back as like a dark kind of persona, dye my hair back to black, come in, you never know. …”
However, the fan response to this was not pleasant, to say the least. Many fans even expressed their displeasure at the thought of her return, also questioning her ability as an in-ring performer. It is true that Eva Marie didn’t have a great run in WWE. Both of her runs in the company are flat-out bland and forgettable. However, there might be a slim possibility for her return. Ever since taking over, Triple H has brought back several released WWE stars and utilized them properly. Who knows, maybe this time Eva Marie would get her time to shine as well?
Why was Eva Marie fired from WWE in 2017?
Back in 2017, Eva Marie was released from WWE after not showing up for more than a year, following her 30-day suspension for breaching the company’s Wellness policy.
After the initial release, she was brought back in 2021, only to be wasted again. She was paired up with Doudrop, but the partnership ended soon when Marie was written out of the storylines. Since her WWE release, she has been focusing on her acting career.
