As revealed on RAW earlier today, Cody Rhodes was unable to get his hands on Brock Lesnar after WWE officials and the security team guarded both wrestlers. This little banter lead to the revelation of the match between these two which is set for WWE Backlash in May later this year.
On the latest episode of RAW, Brock Lesnar was advertised to be on the show after his massive attack on Cody Rhodes in the earlier edition of Monday Night Raw. Cody made his way to the ring and was all motivated to take on Lesnar just when Adam Pearce reminded him that he needs to get some time off as he needs to recover his wounds in order to face The Beast.
However, just after this, Brock appeared on the show wearing a black coat and everyone was expecting a full-fledged explanation from the former World Champion. Whereas Brock just stood idle, uttering no words from his mouth and just giving an evil smile to entice Cody and get on his nerves.
Upon seeing Brock’s smile, Cody became even more furious and aggressive. He made a run to hit Cody with all his might but was obstructed by the security. It took almost 10-20 men who rushed to the scene to stop The American Nightmare to inflict damage upon Brock Lesnar.
This made Adam Pearce make his decision of making Cody vs. Brock official for Backlash. This was followed by an attack on the officials by Cody attempting to hunt down the Beast but was stopped by the security officials on the way.
After experiencing a massive failure in the main event of WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes was shattered into pieces and looked for every possible way to put himself once again in front of the tribal chief Roman Reigns for the World Championship.
Cody’s hunt for the championship was short-lived as at RAW after WrestleMania, Roman challenged Cody to a tag team match with a partner of his choosing to which Brock Lesnar responded, shocking everyone including Roman.
With the match about to start, people were excited to see the duo for the first time. That is just when Brock attacked Cody from behind and dished out a lot of his anger onto the American Nightmare destroying him senselessly.
Cody wants his hands on The Beast and can go to any extent to beat him and certify his position. All to challenge Roman Reigns again for the titles and win the championship gold.
With the match made official, Cody looks fired up with the crowd supporting him since the very beginning of the year. Cody looks as furious as he can be and makes Lesnar look like a complete villain as he stood on the stage and smiled over.
