CM Punk has been on a hiatus from wrestling again, this time due to several controversies. He wrestles his last match at AEW’s All Out PPV back in September. However, despite his absence from the ring, he is still managing to make headlines by sporting a new look.
CM Punk has been the center of a lot of controversies in the past decade. Now, he’s back at it again, this time with AEW. In an infamous backstage incident, Punk was involved in a physical altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, along with a few other superstars. It created a lot of buzz in the world of professional wrestling, and Punk has since been suspended from AEW. In addition to this, Punk went on a rant about Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho and a few other AEW officials in a now deleted Instagram post.
Amidst all the controversies, CM Punk is reported to make his return at the United Center on 17th June for an AEW show. And ahead of the show, the Second City Saint was spotted with a completely bald look. Punk has shaved his head clean, which as some WWE fans might remember, is similar to his look during his heel run in 2013.
In the comments of the post, many fans even pointed this out. Some speculated that he would be back at AEW with his heel persona. This would be pretty interesting to see. However, Punk isn’t expected to return at least within a few months. So it wouldn’t really make sense for him to shave his head bald, just so he can show up with the look 2 or 3 months later.
When will CM Punk return to AEW?
As of now, CM Punk is expected to return at the United Center on June 17th for a new Saturday Night show called Collision. This would be the first time in more than half a year since Punk showed up in AEW.
However, AEW is yet to confirm his appearance. It could even be a surprise appearance during or after a match. It is also interesting to note that CM Punk was spotted backstage on RAW this past week. This gave birth to a whole new bunch of rumours, including the rumour of Punk returning to WWE. However, this is easily dismissible, as Punk is still in contract with AEW.
Even if CM Punk does return at Collision, what could possibly be his role at the event? Stay tuned to find out!
