This year’s Backlash took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, that is, the hometown of the rapper Bad Bunny. And needless to say, the hometown hero got one of the highest pops in the entirety of WWE.
Bad Bunny faced off against his former friend and teammate, Damian Priest of the Judgement Day at Backlash this Saturday in a San Juan Street Fight. And while making his entrance to the ring, Bunny received the biggest pops of the night and in any event of WWE this year.
Bad Bunny was arguably the biggest star of the night in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was the host of the event and also fought Damian Priest and defeated him in a Street Fight match. He was definitely the center of Backlash 2023.
And in addition to all this, Bunny had the best entrance of the night. He used his hit song “Chambea” as his entrance theme and was accompanied by a drone that flew behind him. The entire arena was like a concert, as every fan in the audience sang along and roared-making it to be the most memorable moment of the night. It was a moment that every WWE superstar dreamt of. It’s no doubt that he received the biggest pop of the night, maybe even the of the entire year.
His match with Damian Priest stole the show, as the two superstars brawled in a brutal fashion, using every weapon at their disposal. At one point in the match, Bad Bunny targeted Priest’s knee and continued to hit it with chair shots and a steel chain. It resulted in Damian Priest being completely left at Benito’s mercy until Finn Balor and Dominik came out to help him. Rey Mysterio came out to even the odds but was beaten down due to the number’s advantage.
Surprisingly, WWE superstar Carlito came out to save the day. He, along with Savio Vega sent the Judgement Day members packing. Bad Bunny capitalized on the moment by locking in the Figure-Four Leg lock to the already injured knee of Damian Priest. When Priest refused to submit, he finished things off with a Canadian Destroyer. The Puerto Rican rapper emerged victorious in his hometown and celebrated with the fans afterward.
Bad Bunny’s song “Booker T” becomes the official theme song of WWE Backlash 2023
In a recent post on Twitter, WWE confirmed that Bad Bunny’s hit song, “Booker T” is now the official theme song of Backlash 2023.
Bad Bunny seems to be the center of attraction of this year’s Backlash. In addition to him hosting the event and defeating Damian Priest in singles action, his song is now the official theme of the event as well. He has been on a roll recently, joining LWO on SmackDown and now defeating a member of Judgement Day. He is also super over with the fans and is a major draw.
