AAA star Rush is hugely popular and widely regarded as one of the most skilled wrestlers of all time. His influence in the wrestling world led to WWE also expressing interest in acquiring him.
The Mexican Wrestler Rush has been a huge attraction for AEW since his arrival last year. Rush made a name for himself in various other wrestling promotions before coming to AEW. Since his debut, he has gained a lot of attention because of his previous accommodations outside the company. Rush signed a one-year deal with AEW back in 2022 and the deal was coming to an end soon. With a little bit of time remaining in the contract, WWE was looking to hire the AAA star.
According to Dave Meltzer, Rush was hugely in talks with WWE and they were looking to offer him. WWE wanted the wrestler and was looking to send their offer to him. It was also noted that WWE would’ve given him an NXT contract with high wages. Though their interest, WWE was never able to send an official contract to Rush as AEW made a bigger offer beforehand. According to many sources, the amount they’ve paid for Rush is bigger than any amount of a NXT superstar, excluding Gable Stevenson. To get Rush in the company, WWE would have offered him main roster money.
“Rush has been talked about a lot in WWE given his contract situation. Although he is having a very strong AEW offer to stay. But the general feeling is that they’ve got so many people in NXT ready. They’ve invested in, have put on TV, that for just guys on the roster, they have too few spots as it is.“
