With WrestleMania 39 just around the corner, the match cards are finally taking shape. A total of 8 matches have been already finalized for the annual WrestleMania event. However, there were also a few that didn’t make it on the event schedule and had to be canceled by the Chief Content Officer Triple H.
This year, Triple H said no to 11 such exciting matchups or was forced to decline the proposals to these matches due to some unforeseen circumstances. Let us take a look at all these canceled 11 matchups one by one.
Brock Lesnar vs Gunther
The Beast Incarnate was promised a match with the current WWE Intercontinental Champion before having challenged by the Nigerian Giant Omos for the upcoming WrestleMania 39.
Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley
If Brock Lesnar vs Gunther didn’t sound enticing enough to you, Brock was also gonna fight Bobby in a WrestleMania matchup. WWE even took efforts in that direction by starting their feud during the Royal Rumble. However, they had to take a hard turn and dropped the plan by bringing in Omos.
Brock Lesnar vs Stone Cold Steve Austin
Triple H proposed a match between Brock Lesnar and Stone Cold Steve Austin for WrestleMania 39. However, the Hall of Famer graciously said no and rejected the match proposal.
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Roman Reigns
Triple was not ready to give up. He came up with yet another interesting match proposal. Stone Cold was offered a match with the Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the greatest WWE stage. H had to go back home empty-handed yet again as the former 6-time WWE Champion rejected the proposal.
Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt
We could’ve seen The Beast and The Fiend battle it out on the WrestleMania stage but WWE decided to take a different route with the introduction of Uncle Howdy and his feud with LA Knight.
Logan Paul vs John Cena
Fightful reports suggested that Logan Paul and John Cena were on the match cards against each other until late November 2022 but WWE finally decided to split the cards into John Cena vs Austin Theory and Logan Paul vs Seth Rollins.
The Rock vs Roman Reigns
Wrestler turned Hollywood star The Rock was offered a WrestleMania matchup with the current face of WWE Roman Reigns. Keeping his tight schedule in mind and the fact that it will be nearly impossible for Dwayne to get in shape until the event, the match card was thrown into the fire.
Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins
Wrestling Observer reported a possible matchup between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. WWE would’ve split up the WWE Championship title and Cody would’ve fought it against Seth Rollins for his dream. Although, none of that is happening now.
Ronda Rousey vs Rhea Ripley
Before the finalized card of Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair, Ripley was destined to fight Ronda Rousey in WrestleMania 39.
Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch
And even before that Ronda was going to fight against Becky Lynch. It was supposed to happen long ago in the WrestleMania of 2019 but was dropped every time.
Bianca Belair vs Charlotte Flair
This epic matchup was canceled and now Bianca Belair is going against Asuka. WWE had to build it up by making Asuka the winner of the Elimination Chamber matchup.
This is not the first time WWE had to cancel WrestleMania matches ahead of the actual event. Take a look at the Top matches that never made it to the actual WrestleMania.
