Bruno Fernandes has finally made light of his embarrassing meeting with Manchester United and Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
The midfielder was photographed coming into the Portugal dressing room before training as the national team ramps up preparations for the Qatar World Cup when he noticed United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
This meeting happened only days after the 37-year-old sat down for an explosive, tell-all interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored.
What did Bruno Fernandes said about Cristiano Ronaldo?
In the interview, Ronaldo expresses his unvarnished opinions on everyone from manager Erik ten Hag to Wayne Rooney, although Fernandes may have taken issue with some of the comments about United’s lack of development following Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.
With that in mind, many felt there was animosity between Fernandes and Ronaldo in the locker room, before whispering something to the United number seven that left him looking blankly back at the midfielder.
Fernandes, on the other hand, has tried to dispel any talk of a feud by taking to Instagram to draw attention to Joao Mario’s comments on the entire saga.
Mario told reporters: “I was in the locker room at that moment, I saw pictures. It was a joke between them because Bruno was one of the last to arrive and Cristiano asked if he had come by boat. It was a joke between them, they play together”.
Fernandes then had his say, re-sharing Mario’s comments and adding, “There you are, ruining the covers of newspapers,” followed by laughing emojis. It would seem as if there has been no fall-out between the two United stars after all, despite Ronaldo’s damning assessment”.
Will Ronaldo leave Manchester United?
Ronaldo’s interview has drawn attention to a variety of United-related matters, but it will come as a comfort to Old Trafford supporters that there is no animosity between two of the club’s most prominent players.
Ronaldo said, “The progress was zero. Since Sir Alex [Ferguson] left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed”. “I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. This is why I come to Manchester United”.
Ronaldo’s tenure as Fernandes’ club teammate might come to an end in the January transfer window.
