Roman Reigns has been the top dog of WWE for a long time. Ever since he turned heel in 2020, he has been pretty much untouchable. At last year’s WrestleMania, Reigns was acknowledged backstage by The Texas Rattlesnake, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin himself.
Roman Reigns has been firing on all cylinders ever since he made his return to action in 2020 after turning his heel at the SummerSlam PPV, where he took out “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman. Since then, Reigns went on to win the Universal Championship and defend it on multiple occasions on SmackDown and twice in WrestleMania so far.
Last year, he also won the Universal Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar. Reigns became the Undisputed Champion of WWE, unifying both his championship titles. All his hard work was acknowledged by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who was backstage and praised The Tribal Chief for doing an amazing job.
Steve Austin returned to his hometown of Texas in WrestleMania 38, where he competed in a match for the first time, against Kevin Owens. His match got the biggest pop on night 1 of WrestleMania 38.
Austin did not miss the chance to acknowledge Roman Reigns for his efforts. After Reigns beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, he was met by The Texas Rattlesnake backstage. The pair embraced and Austin lauded The Tribal Chief for his performances. He told Reigns that he was proud of him and praised him for taking his game to the next level.
“Brother, you’ve been putting all the pieces together, and you’re doing an amazing job. You’ve really arrived, and I’m so proud of you!” Austin said to Roman Reigns.
It’s always nice to see Roman Reigns getting recognition for his hard work in WWE over the years. He certainly deserves the praise, and hearing it from The Rattlesnake himself would definitely be an honor.
Roman Reigns’ journey so far
Roman Reigns has been with WWE for over a decade now. For the most part, he was pushed by WWE as a babyface. Fans, however, did not accept him as a face and thought that he would be more effective as a heel. His mic skills as a face definitely weren’t great and failed to make the crowd cheer for him wherever he went.
Reigns was still a fan favorite. Fans have been pushing for him to turn his heel for a long time. Most of the heels in the company eventually become fan favorites through excellent storytelling and their performances. Fans finally got their wish granted at SummerSlam 2020 when Reigns returned as a top heel to take out “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman to establish his dominance.
Since then, he formed the villainous stable, “The Bloodline”, and became their “Tribal Chief”. He was accompanied by the brilliant Paul Heyman, who elevated him to new heights. Reigns is currently the Undisputed WWE Champion and is about to set an outstanding milestone of defending his Universal Championship 3 times at WrestleMania during the same title reign.
Roman Reigns is currently set to face The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, who looks to finally dethrone Roman Reigns as the Undisputed Champion. What do you guys think? Will Cody be the one to finally end Reigns’ dominant title run? Find out on April 1 at The Showcase of the Immortals!
