Roman Reigns has now achieved a great milestone. At this year’s WrestleMania, Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes, making him the only superstar in history to successfully defend a title on 3 WrestleManias back to back during the same title reign.
Roman Reigns has certainly come a long way since becoming The Tribal Chief. He has successfully defended his championship against multiple wrestlers over the span of 3 years and has remained untouchable.
In a post-WrestleMania 39 press conference by BT Sport, The Tribal Chief declared himself as “The Greatest Of All Time”, and this WrestleMania backs up this fact. He also called the entire Bloodline the best performers. He further added that the man he beat last night, Cody Rhodes’ dad, Dusty Rhodes told him that years ago. This might seem like a jab at The American Nightmare, but no one can deny that he is one of the, if not the best wrestler in the world of professional wrestling.
Here’s what Roman Reigns said at the press conference:
“This is as real as it gets: The man I beat tonight, his dad told me that 10 years ago … I’m the Greatest of All Time. This WrestleMania solidifies it.”
Roman Reigns’ historic run as the Undisputed Universal Champion
Back in 2020, Roman Reigns returned to action and laid out Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt, solidifying himself as the biggest heel in the company. He then went on to win the Universal Championship at Payback 2020 by defeating Bray Wyatt.
At WrestleMania 37, he defended the Universal title against Edge and Daniel Bryan. Since then, his reign as the Universal Champion continued. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to win the WWE Championship and unified both championships to become the Undisputed WWE Champion.
Roman Reigns also formed the villainous stable called The Bloodline, with his cousins, The Usos and Solo Sikoa. Ever since his heel turn, Paul Heyman has accompanied him as his manager and elevated him to greater heights.
As Reigns continues his dominant title run at 945 days, fans wonder how long we will see The Tribal Chief hold onto his championships as well as The Bloodline, which is going through some friction at the moment.
