Former WWE superstar, John Morrison recently took shots at multiple wrestlers in the wrestling industry, after winning his first boxing fight.
John Hennigan, aka John Morrison apparently has some bad blood against WWE. Morrison, along with his wife Taya Valkyrie were released from WWE amidst the layoffs in 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, Morrison has appeared in AEW a few times, but never actually signed a contract with them. Recently, Morrison tried his hands in boxing, and it seems it went pretty well for him.
In WWE, Morrison is mostly remembered due to his team-up with The Miz. However, ever since being released from the company, Morrison seems to have some deep-rooted hatred for the WWE wrestlers. He had his first boxing match against Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Time at Creator Clash 2 on April 15th. He was accompanied to the ring by a few friends of his, including LA Knight and Karrion Kross of WWE. John Morrison won the fight, following which he dissed Roman Reigns and some other top wrestlers in the industry.
“Triple H, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, on Saturday I did something that none of them could ever do, and that is win a real fight. Su*kers.”
Morrison further said that if KSI were to challenge him, he could reduce weight and get down to his weight class. He even said with confidence that he could beat KSI and the YouTuber would end up “looking at the lights”.
After his first victory against a YouTuber, Morrison seems pretty overconfident, going as far as taking shots at Roman Reigns and even Triple H. This was certainly uncalled for, but its not uncommon in the world of combat sports, where athletes often take cheap shots at others.
On an unrelated note, Morrison’s wife, the AEW star Taya Valkyrie congratulated her husband on his first victory outside WWE. She recalled how the last year had been incredibly hard for them. She also thanked Morrison’s friends who accompanied him to the ring.
