Tony D’Angelo has been absent from NXT television for several weeks due to undisclosed charges. During his absence, Tony instructed his Underboss, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, to take action. On June 20, Stacks abducted Joe Coffey and locked him in a trunk. However, the following week, Stacks helped Gallus’ Mark Coffey and Wolfgang retain the NXT Tag Team Championship. Later on June 27, Joe Coffey visited Tony and played a recording revealing that Stacks is aiming for the top position in the family. In the recording, Stacks instructed Joe to lay low for a week and expressed his desire to no longer be the Underboss. It seems the rat was much closer to Tony than anticipated.
D’Angelo’s demeanor shifted noticeably, his expression betraying a deep sense of disappointment upon receiving this disheartening news. It remains to be seen whether Lorenzo’s alleged betrayal is indeed true or simply an intricate ploy orchestrated by the cunning D’Angelo Family.
