Former Ajax Winger Antony, who joined Manchester United this season for a record fee has opened up about how Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo helped him in getting settled at Old Trafford.
The Brazil International said that the former Real Madrid striker always makes him comfortable. Antony also said that being with Cristiano Ronaldo feels like he know you for a long time. Former Ajax Winger also added he can learn a lot from Cristiano Ronaldo.
It feels like both the players have already made a bond at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated the 700th club goal of his career with Antony alongside him. And the young Winger has always shown great respect to the 37-year-old.
What does Antony have to say about Cristiano Ronaldo and how did the Portuguese striker help him in getting comfortable at Old Trafford?
Speaking to ESPN Brazil, Antony said: “I’m feeling very happy, and I told this to him because we always follow up and have this dialogue. He always makes me feel comfortable. It looks like I have known him for a long time, and I told him this.”
Antony also said that Cristiano Ronaldo is a huge reference for all the young players in the squad of Manchester United. He also said that sharing a few moments with the Portuguese star striker are really rewarding.
The former Ajax Winger added “He has a beautiful history and he is a huge reference for those who are younger than him. Something flashes in my mind, like we play video games [of him], watch him on television and right now I share some moments with him, for me it is very rewarding. As I said, I’m still young. I am 22 years old and I’m learning a lot from him.”
