This task of uniting these talents from all around the world to play into a single team with a unilateral vision of winning glory for their nation is accomplished by these great managers. Let us know more about the football managers going to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Here is a list of all the nations and their managers sorted according to their appearance in the groups provided by FIFA.
Group A
Qatar- Felix Sanchez
The host nation of the upcoming World Cup will also get a chance to play in the world cup and their national team that will fight for glory on the field will be directed by Felix Sanchez who previously was a coach at the Barcelona youth academy.
Ecuador- Gustavo Alfaro
Senegal- Aliou Cisse
Netherlands- Louis van Gaal
One of the strongest contenders to the Cup and possibly the strongest team in the group, the Netherlands football team is guided by the legendary manager Louis van Gaal.
He has previously managed many big teams and has many titles to boast about in his managerial career. He has won two La Liga titles with Barcelona, one Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich, and a FA Cup for the Red Devils. His current run for the Netherlands team is very successful with a win rate of 69.23%.
Group B
England- Gareth Southgate
The team led by Gareth Southgate this year looks promising as they have qualified with a no-loss record yet again in the FIFA World Cup Qualification rounds. The team managed by Gareth Southgate also placed fourth in the latest 2018 FIFA World Cup where they had again qualified without a single loss.
Gareth Southgate also took the team to the EUFA European Championship finals in 2020. Not to forget the third place in the UEFA Nations League in the 2018-19 season.
Iran- Dragan Skocic
United States- Gregg Berhalter
Wales- Rob Page
Group C
Argentina- Lionel Scaloni
Lionel Scaloni’s current Argentina team is no doubt one of the best teams right now. Given their recent victory in the Copa America and great qualification run it is of no surprise that the Argentina team with the likes of Lionel Messi could be seen lifting the World Cup.
This World Cup might be Lionel Messi’s last chance to serve his nation on the international stage. And to support that the Argentina team has a magnificent coach with a 65% win rate for Argentina.
Saudi Arabia- Herve Renard
Mexico- Gerardo Martino
Poland- Czeslaw Michniewicz
Group D
France- Didier Deschamps
The strongest contenders from Group D are also one of the strongest contenders for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. To make things more interesting, France’s national football team is also the reigning champions of the tournament and will defend their title in the upcoming months.
But all this glory is thanks to their incredible manager/coach who has been guiding the team for a decade now.
Australia- Graham Arnold
Denmark- Kasper Hjulmand
Tunisia- Jalel Kadri
Group E
Spain- Luis Enrique
The national football team of Spain has a great and consistent record when it comes to their FIFA World Cup performances. They have also won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and have always qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the past four decades and counting.
The current coach with which the team would land on stage is also one of the greatest. Luis Enrique is one of the finest managers and has taken Barcelona to two La Liga titles, three Copa Del Rey titles, and UEFA Champions League in the 2014-15 season. He also has a phenomenal record with Spain and managed the squad that won the UEFA Nations League in 2020-21.
Costa Rica- Luis Fernando Suárez
Germany- Hansi Flick
Four times world champions, Germany is a team to watch at the upcoming FIFA World Cup. The team won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with complete domination and was just unstoppable.
The team will be managed by Hansi Flick for this tournament. Under his watch, the team completed their qualifications with a splendid record of 9 wins out of 10 matches. He also led Bayern Munich to victory in two Bundesliga titles in his two years with the club.
Japan- Hajime Moriyasu
Group F
Belgium- Roberto Martinez
Roberto Martinez’s team found itself in third place at the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Belgium is also one of the top teams in the upcoming FIFA World cup and will most probably advance from this Group.
Martinez has kept up to the nation’s pride and has coached the current team to qualify without dropping a single match in their Qualification phase matches.
Canada- John Herdman
Morocco- Walid Regragui
Croatia- Zlatko Dalić
The runner-up team for the previous FIFA World Cup 2018 lost their final match to glory against France. But the team looks strong walking into the upcoming Qatar FIFA World Cup.
The team will again be managed by the same coach that led them to their second-place finish in the latest World Cup. Zlatko Dalic’s team looks strong again this year as they qualified for the tournament by losing just a single match in their run.
Group G
Brazil- Tite
With the likes of Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Raphinha, and Vinicius Junior this Brazil team just look unstoppable. Not to forget Casemiro and Coutinho in the midfield to support these stars. And at last their formidable defense with Dani valves and Thiago Silva.
But to manage so many superstars at once is not an easy task and this task was handed to Tite this year again. Tite has been coaching the Brazil team for 5 years now and is looking to accomplish what he couldn’t in the previous World Cup. His team won Copa America in 2019.
Serbia- Dragan Stojković
Switzerland- Murat Yakin
Cameroon- Rigobert Song
Group H
Portugal- Fernando Santos
Eliminated in the round of 16 in their previous chance at the World Cup, the team of Portugal is back again to shine at the upcoming World Cup mega event. This might be Cristiano Ronaldo’s last chance at the Cup.
And all lies in the hands of Fernando Santos and his team to make his dream come true. Fernando led the team to victory in the inaugural season of the UEFA Nations League in 2019.
Ghana- Otto Addo
Uruguay- Diego Alonso
With the two times World Champions, Uruguay is also one of the most consistent teams and strong contenders for lifting the cup. They made it to the Quarter Finals in the last World Cup in 2018 and were eliminated.
However, with the new manager Diego Alonso the team might get to lift the World Cup again after 70 years.
South Korea- Paulo Bento
