Last week hasn’t been all too great for Cody Rhodes. At WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes lost the biggest match of his career against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. The next night, he tried to bounce back by teaming up with Brock Lesnar against The Bloodline. And at the end of the night, he was lying unconscious in the ring after a brutal attack by Lesnar.
Following the betrayal by Lesnar on RAW, fans have been wondering if the whole segment was to set up a match between Cody and Brock at Backlash. There were also rumours that Cody might be leaving WWE after all this. Cody Rhodes recently shared a post on Instagram, thanking the WWE Universe, Triple H, John Cena, his wife Brandi Rhodes and several others for allowing him to induct 15 wishes into the Circle Of Champions. He further mentioned in the post that he recognizes his failure at WrestleMania and is looking to address the fans about his future in WWE on this week’s RAW.
What’s next for Cody Rhodes after his loss at WrestleMania?
Cody’s loss at The Showcase of The Immortals sparked an outrage among fans who wanted Cody to be the one to finally end Roman Reigns’ dominant title run. However, WWE chose to have Roman retain his title, a move which was universally disapproved by fans.
Following the betrayal and a brutal beatdown by The Beast on last week’s RAW, it doesn’t seem like Cody is getting another title shot anytime soon. WWE seems to have moved on from that idea. It also doesn’t seem like Cody’s journey in WWE is coming to an end, despite what rumours suggest.
