Cathy Kelly the current backstage interviewer of the SmackDown brand is again in the news. Kelly in her recent interview with Chris Van Vliet talked about a variety of topics. In the interview itself, Cathy Kelly opened up on how she copes with mean and hate comments. At the same time gave insights into what her social media DM’s look like.
Cathy Kelly is as we all know a backstage interviewer on the SmackDown brand and has been working in WWE since 2016. Kelly made her official television debut during an episode of NXT in the year 2019. She also made a one-night appearance on SmackDown as a correspondent on November 1, 2019, after most of the WWE roster was stuck overseas in Saudi Arabia. Kelly however left WWE in the year 2020 to follow her dreams and become an actor. Kelly did in fact act in a Netflix web series in her time away from WWE.
Kelly however made her return to WWE in the year 2022 and started working as a backstage interview on the RAW brand. Kelly is a very popular person due to her social media posts and reels. She is seen mostly with Judgment Day member Rhea Ripley as both share a similar vibe. Now in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cathy Kelly was asked about what her DM’s look like, considering she is a top WWE talent.

To which Kelly replied, “Honestly I don’t really look at DM’s too often. I have actually in the past like a couple of years been tried to stay off reading things on social media. Just because you know, even if you take good, you also take into the bad as well. Really just like goes back to what Booker said about listening to yourself trusting your gut. And also certain fans being not nice all the time.”
Cathy then went on to elaborate on the kind of DM’s or comments that she gets. Kelly then also went on to highlight the fact that women are more subjected to being judged by their clothes and their body type than men in general. She opened up about her eating disorder and how she was fat-shamed for posting her videos or photos of the gym.

Kelly said, “I feel like I get a lot of criticisms when it comes to how I look, which I think women are more subjected to than men a lot of the time. So that was something really hard for me especially when I started so I kind of stayed away from it. I have struggled with eating disorders in the past so that’s something that’s super sensitive to me. If I post something from the gym they are like why do you squat you don’t even have an a**.”
Kelly said that this kind of statement used to worry her in the past as she was super conscious about her body. But she then said that she got used to listening to such cheap things as there are always such people around.
